Abstract

Business records of John P. Jones, eleven Nevada mill and mining companies, as well as the Pacific Reclamation Company, including statements of account, receipts, Nevada tax assessment documents, payrolls, and insurance policies. Records provide detailed descriptions of insured properties, day to day operational costs including the cost of equipment and supplies, and the names, wages, and duties of mine workers. Includes receipts for equipment and materials bought by W. B. Pless from Sonoma and San Francisco supply companies.

John Percival Jones, born in Herefordshire, England, in 1829, grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, before migrating west during the 1849 gold rush.
